E la Pigna è per…

… bueno: así era como me parecía más correcto dar el premio al mejor documental… lo de “the pigna goes to…” me parecía un poco “cursi”, ¿o no?

Pues aquí está. La Pigna d’oro, para el documental Souls in 35mm, un gran trabajo: no solo porque me parece que tiene un guión sugerente y está bien montando, sino también porque es divertido… ¡y no es sólo opinión mía, eh! ¡Ah!, y vale la pena no perderse los originales títulos de crédito.

Resumen

Cine y libertad. La libertad influye en el cine, lógicamente, por tratarse de una obra humana, y obra artística además. A la vez, el cine influye en la libertad, quizá mucho más de lo que pensamos… Es la pescadilla que se muerde la cola. ¿Te has parado a reflexionarlo? Souls in 35mm lo hace.

CALIDAD TÉCNICA: Freedom in Artistic Creation

Resumen

La experiencia artística supone a la persona un gran paso para realizarse como tal. En este sentido, el papel de la Libertad en la Creación Artística es decisivo. Pero, ¿qué es la Libertad en el Arte? Al realizarnos esta pregunta no se puede dar una respuesta concreta y concisa, por lo que decidimos realiazársela a distintos artistas desde sus ámbitos de creación. Cada uno aporta una visión parcial pero, al final, el resultado es una respuesta bastante global de Libertad (Libertad con respecto a mi mismo, Libertad y determinación, Libertad y sociedad, Libertad y Comunicación). Esta respuesta en el ámbito del arte, bien puede traspasarse a la Libertad aplicada al Hombre en general.

Sin duda alguna, era lo que se merecían… y si no os lo creéis, comprobadlo vosotros mismos:

Resumen

Nuestro documental pretende:

1. Hacer accesible el pensamiento profundo sobre la libertad a un público amplio. Para ello se sirve del rap como forma de expresión actual, atractiva y cercana.
2. Intentar mejorar la cultura desde dentro. Para ello intentamos solucionar algunas de las perplejidades que se dan en ella. Por ejemplo, la aparente dicotomía entre libertad y obediencia.
3. Creemos que el mejor modo de cumplir los otros dos propósitos es dejar que cada uno piense. Por ello no se trata de un vídeo con un mensaje único.

INVESTIGACIÓN DOCUMENTAL: January 13th. A Victory for Freedom

Resumen

The video will present the events of January 13, 1991 in Vilnius, Lithuania, which are not widely known in the world. The topic is timely, given that Lithuania in 2011 is celebrating the 20th anniversary of this “victory”.

In January 1991 the Soviet Union attempted through military force to overthrow the government of the Republic of Lithuania and restore the rule of the Soviet Communist Party in the country. These events culminated on January 13, when the unarmed people of Lithuania defended their legitimately elected government and the independence of the Republic of Lithuania (declared on March 11, 1990).

The video will briefly present this dramatic development through interviews with persons who played an important role in the events. Vytautas Landsbergis (then Head of State), Algirdas Saudargas (then Foreign Minister), a Catholic Archbishop and others speak about people’s longing for freedom at that time and their understanding of the meaning of freedom as well as the significance of January 13 in terms of lessons for the world both then and now

Resumen

There is a prevalent misconception that commitments confine and limit a person. Unbinding Commitment challenges this by presenting the paradoxical idea that the commitment to help others actually liberates a person: it unlocks the doors of the imagination, opens horizons, expands one’s vision, and turns dreams into reality.

This short documentary presents Benedict IX’s definition of freedom – commitment to the truth – in the context of a call to action: ordinary people, especially the youth, liberating themselves so that they in turn can free others.

CONTENIDO EDUCATIVO O CULTURAL: 瘸龍 The Lame Dragon

Resumen

The dragon is one of the symbols of the city of Hong Kong and of all China. It has its dance that represents the quest for the dragon ball, which contains the essence of all power and dignity. Dragons are believed to bring good luck to people, great power, fertility, wisdom and auspiciousness.

All these qualities contribute to reach the upper level of inner freedom. But in XXI Century, a Dragon that dances avoiding the search for Democracy could be understood as a lame dragon, a dragon that lucks some of the essential bases of occidental freedom. But is it the same in the oriental culture?
